Brothers In Unity Fellowship

Description of Ministry: The Brothers In Unity Fellowship is the collective fellowship of adult men within our church family. Its purpose is to develop associations with like-minded men, under the direction of the Bishop, whose goal is the development of Faith and Character aka our private Life, so they may live Holy through a Christ-centered and Spirit-led life: Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV) 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus

B.I.U.s Mission: To build the body of Christ and strengthen the bonds of brotherly love; to bear one another’s burdens; to promote the general welfare of our individual and church families so God is glorified ” Iron Sharpens Iron” The phrase “iron sharpens iron” is found in Proverbs 27:17: “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” There is a mutual benefit in the rubbing of two iron blades together; the edges become sharper, making the knives more efficient in their task to cut and slice. Likewise, the Word of God is a ‘double-edged sword’ (Hebrews 4:12), and it is with this that we are to sharpen one another—in times of meeting, fellowship, or any other interaction. Brothers  In Unity  Fellowship

The Proverb indicates the need for constant fellowship with one another. Man was not made to be alone, for did not the Lord God say this, even before the fall (Genesis 2:18)? How much more, then, after the Fall of Man, do we need to come together with our brothers and sisters in Christ for seasons of fellowship and prayer. This was recognized by the saints of the early church (Acts 2:42-47) who “devoted themselves” to the teaching, fellowship, communion, and prayer, all corporate activities that provided opportunities for sharpening one another. The result was that they were “filled with awe” and when they met together, they praised God for the favor they found with one another.

There are two points to make about the above Proverb:

1) The meeting of two together in the Lord’s name will always guarantee blessing. It is a means of grace that the Lord Himself promised—where two or more are gathered in His name, there He is among them (Matthew v18:20).

2) We see a similar meaning in Malachi for those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard (Malachi 3:16). When we sharpen one another in Brother In Unity Fellowship, the Lord bends an ear from heaven and is pleased. Not one word spoken about the Glory of God through Christ escapes being noticed by God. We will experience this through Ministries and Activities established for the Brothers In Unity Fellowship. The purpose of this program is to motivate the men of our church family and encourage them toward good work. It is also a time of recognition for good works already performed and a time to strengthen and celebrate each other in the LORD. This program is normally held in August of every year and is conducted as an Ephesians 4:11-15. The motivation of the Brother In Unity Fellowship is to cause the men in their Christian walk to experience Spiritual reflection and Revival on an individual/personal level. It is also an opportunity for Men to fellowship and reconnect within the body of Christ.

Date and time of regular meeting: The Brothers In Unity Men’s Fellowship meets on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
